Indiana Wesleyan alum Brandon Beachy is ranked as the No. 8 prospect for the Atlanta Braves.

MARION, Ind. -- Brandon Beachy's stellar 2010 season has everyone taking notice of the Indiana Wesleyan University alum.
With no fanfare entering last season, Beachy's stock has soared and he is now the eighth ranked prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization, according to the latest issue of Baseball America.
The Kokomo, Indiana native led the entire minor leagues last year with a 1.73 earned run average. He finished his breakout campaign with three starts for Atlanta in the pennant chase during the regular season and a spot on the Braves' 25-man postseason roster.
In three starts for Atlanta, Beachy accumulated a 3.00 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched. Atlanta went on to win the Wild Card by one game over San Diego to advance to the playoffs.
Baseball America says, "Beachy's repertoire and feel for pitching bode well for the long term. He succeeded as both a reliever and a starter in 2010, enhancing his chances of making the major league staff this spring."
Atlanta pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training on February 14.
