NAIA Poll Shows IWU Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 6
MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University improved one spot to No. 6 in the latest NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top-25 poll which was released Monday night.
The Wildcats won their only contest of the week with a 53-47 victory over Bethel (Ind.) College in Luckey Arena on Wednesday evening.
Three teams split the 15 first place votes available.
Hastings (Neb.) College takes over the No. 1 spot for the first time this season with six first place votes for 394 points. The former top-ranked team, Davenport (Mich.) University, falls to No. 2 with three first place votes and 389 points. Cedarville (Ohio) University is third with six votes and 383 points.
With a 20-4 record, Indiana Wesleyan is No. 6 with 345 points. IWU is 9-1 in the Mid-Central College Conference to hold first place all alone.
Indiana Wesleyan is joined in the ranking by three other conference schools. University of Saint Francis (Ind.) is No. 11, Huntington (Ind.) University is No. 18 and Marian (Ind.) University in No. 23.
The Wildcats will play a pair of road games this week in the MCC. IWU will play at Huntington at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3 and at Spring Arbor at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 6.
