Did You Know?: The University of Indianapolis boasts seven winter/spring teams in the top 16 in the nation currently. Four of those teams appear in the top 10 (Women's Basketball 2, Women's Golf 5, Softball 5, Men's Golf 9). Women's Basketball: With its still-undefeated record in tow (21-0), the second-ranked UIndy women’s basketball team hosts a pair of GLVC West Division foes this week, starting with Rockhurst Thursday evening. The main event comes two days later, as the West-leading Drury Lady Panthers visit Nicoson Hall Saturday afternoon. In their last action, the Hounds dispatched Wisconsin-Parkside on its home court in a 72-59 decision last Saturday, breaking the Rangers’ 16-game home win streak. UIndy is one of just three undefeated teams left in D-II and sits atop the NCAA Midwest Regional rankings.

Men's Basketball: The Greyhounds shot better than 50 percent from the floor in taking a 75-66 win at Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday to improve to 11-10 overall. Junior guard Darius Adams dumped-in 31 points in the winning effort. UIndy led by as many as 15 in the first half but had to fend off the home team in the second period after UWP tied it with 10 minutes left. The Hounds host Rockhurst and Drury this week. Thursday is the annual "Coaches vs. Cancer" game while Saturday's festivities include the 2010 Hall of Fame inductees.

Track & Field: Katy Watson was named GLVC Field Athlete of the Week, while Frederick Helm garnered GLVC Track Athlete of the Week honors after their performances at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational. Helm posted a GLVC-leading time of 6.87 on his way to winning the 60-meter dash, a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marking. Watson placed third in the shot put on Saturday after a season-best toss of 12.23 meters. Three relay teams set meet records at IWU to lead the Greyhound effort. The teams will be back in action on Feb. 5 when they travel to Findlay University for the Division II Challenge. Events for the two-day event are slated to begin at 12:00 PM.

Swimming & Diving: In their final meet before the conference championships, the UIndy men’s and women’s swim teams both earned dual victories versus Lewis at the Ruth Lilly Center Pool Saturday afternoon. The men downed the visiting Flyers 114-87, while the women took a 122-82 win. The UIndy women took eight of the 11 contested events, while the men earned wins in seven. Maura Donahue earned two NCAA B-cut times by winning both the 100 and 1000 freestyle while Erica Smith also earned a pair of B times in the 100 fly and 200 IM. On the men’s side, Guy Kogel and Austin Biefnes each garnered three wins apiece. The 2010 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship will be held Feb. 10-13 in Detroit, Mich. hosted by Wayne State University

.Wrestling: The Greyhound wrestling team used five placements on their way to a sixth place finish at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational on Saturday at Wheaton College. UIndy stood ninth after Friday's bouts, but an individual title at 125 from Alex Johns propelled the Hounds up the team standings. Fifth-place finishes by Lynn Panko and Ethan Harris aided the sixth-place team showing. The UIndy wrestling team will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Lebanon, Ill. for a dual meet with McKendree University. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.

Softball: The Greyhounds officially get their 2010 schedule underway this weekend at the Arkansas Tech Spring Slam. The Hounds will play four ranked teams in the month of February, playing No. 2 North Georgia and No. 20 Wayne State (Mich.) in Hunstville, Ala. Feb. 19-20 before a showdown with the nation's top-ranked team-- Ala.-Huntsville-- Feb. 28 in Florence, Ala. UIndy is ranked fifth nationally in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association preseason Top 25 poll.

Men's Golf: The spring portion of the schedule opens with a bang as the Hounds head to the Golfweek Spring Invitational at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla. The event features nine teams in the Top 25 poll and five in the top in the nation. The 54-hole event starts Sunday and runs through next Tuesday.

Men's Tennis: The men's tennis team will host new GLVC-member Illinois-Springfield Saturday at the UIndy Tennis Center. Since the Prairie Stars are positioned in the GLVC West, it will be a non-conference match. UIndy posted a 2-2 record in the fall portion of its schedule.
