CALUMET, WEST SIDE ADVANCE AT JOE “MOOSE” GATES CLASSIC

The Calumet Warriors and West Side Cougars will play for the first-ever Joe “Moose” Gates Memorial Classic Championship after both squads earned victories Friday night at U. S. Calumet topped Gates’ alma mater, Roosevelt High School, in the first game of the day by a final score of 15-6, setting up a Saturday showdown with West Side, who knocked off Lew Wallace 25-6 in the nightcap. Saturday’s action at U. S. Steel Yard begins at 1 p.m. with the Consolation finals between Lew Wallace and Roosevelt and concludes at 4 p.m. with the Championship Game.
